The Warring States

"The Warring State" is set during China’s Warring States Period (475 BC – 221 BC) and will center on a rivalry between military strategists Sun Bin (Sun Honglei) and Pang Juan (Francis Ng). Both men studied military strategy together before Pang became a top military general for the Wei state. Despite his success, Pang became jealous of Sun’s closer relationship to their hermit mentor and had him framed for treason against the state. Sun’s life was spared by Pang’s intervention but he was branded a criminal and had his kneecaps removed.
Pang feigned pity to trick Sun into compiling his strategic knowledge into a book with the intention to kill him afterwards. Sun became aware of the plot and pretended to go mad long enough to escape to the Qi state where he became a top strategist and statesman. Both men later led armies against one another on the battlefield.

戰國時期，七雄爭霸。齊將田忌之女田夕率兵與魏軍交戰，原以為勝券在
握，不料卻被半路殺出的孫臏用匪夷所思的計謀打敗，手下傷亡慘重。田夕滿
懷悲憤力擒孫臏，原本想殺了他為齊國將士報仇，誰知求賢若渴的齊王卻下令
赦免闖下大禍的孫臏。河洛大會上，孫臏親自上陣幫齊國賽馬，奇才初露之
時，偶遇昔日同門師兄龐涓。已經成為魏國大將軍的龐涓以三座城池為代價，
將孫臏換到魏國。孫臏對師兄一片赤誠，原以為可以從此團聚相守，誰知他身
懷絕世的兵法卻埋下禍根。龐涓、龐妃、魏王為其針鋒相對、劍拔弩張，幾大
諸侯國也是虎視眈眈。懸疑重重的權勢角力之中，一場曠古未有的殘酷戰爭一
觸即發。而在這一切的背後，一個更可怕的驚天奇謀剛剛露出冰山一角……
